Insurance Partnerships

Telematics that knows
what the sign actually said.

Most usage-based insurance programs score speed against a fixed threshold or a rough road-class estimate. RADR reads the posted limit for the specific road segment, which makes the resulting risk signal considerably cleaner.

Signals available

What RADR measures

Speed vs. posted limit

Per-segment comparison against OSM limit data, with duration and severity grading.

Harsh braking

Accelerometer-derived, distance-normalised so trip length doesn't skew the rate.

Rapid acceleration

Same methodology, separate signal.

Cornering forces

Lateral G measured via CoreMotion during trips.

Phone use while driving

Foreground screen time accrued while the vehicle is in motion.

Night driving exposure

Time driven 11pm–5am, a well-established risk multiplier.

Mileage

Actual driven distance per period, per vehicle.

Composite score

0–100 per trip, weighted and distance-normalised.

Crash events

Detected collisions with timestamp and location.

Structure

How a partnership could work

1

Driver opts in

Explicit, revocable consent to share their score with a named insurer. Never automatic.

2

Score is shared

Aggregate score and component metrics — not raw location traces.

3

Insurer prices it

Discount, cashback, or reduced deductible applied at your discretion.

A note on privacy, because it matters for this one: RADR's default position is that location history stays with the driver. Any insurance integration would be opt-in per driver, revocable at any time, and would share derived scores rather than raw traces unless the driver separately consents. We'd rather build something drivers trust than something that gets deleted.
